What do you think about when you look at the ocean? Here were my thoughts this weekend:
The ocean has such a strong personality. She is moody. She changes every hour—her colors and sounds. She has the muscles to wipe out entire cities with one punch. But she can be gentle enough to tickle a baby’s toes.
I would love to get to know her better.
But here’s the thing: I think she’s lonely. She carries all theses dark places. Hardly anyone takes the time to know those places. It’s impossible, scientists claim, because there’s too much pressure pushing against you.
She carries all these ships at night that are as isolated as stars. And if you swim in her, she has lots of friends with teeth that will always keep you on guard.
She’s in love with the moon. She’s always crawling towards him, stretching as close as she can get, like she’s doing a strange cosmic waltz. That would explain her moodiness—she’s in love with someone she can never have.
But she’s so beautiful. Like I said, I’d just like to get to know her better.
